In our April 2012 first Friday event, Dr. Bob Jones III, Chancellor of Bob Jones University, makes a passionate plea for God “to give us the courage to lead our children out of Pharaoh’s schools,” the Godless, government-run, so-called “public” schools. He discusses the Biblical mandate to God-fearing people: to choose an education for their children that will cause them to set their hope in God, not forget the works of God, and keep His commandments.
Dr. Jones warns of the dangers of a Godless education. He notes that many of our colleges and universities were founded as explicitly Christian educational institutions (such as Duke, Harvard, and the University of Georgia) and he laments the decline of Biblical preaching from the pulpit He emphasizes that we must teach the next generation to know and praise God.
